 Catherine Robertson 

 

Catherine Robertson is a teacher, conductor and soloist, who resides in Wasaga Beach. While raising her four children, she taught innumerable private lessons in voice, piano, woodwinds, brass and theory. She has been director of music at Central United church in Barrie for 20 years, and was the founder/director of The Barrie Regional Youth Choir, the Wasaga Beach Children’s Choir and Mosaic (a choir for adults that started out for men and ladies and then became a ladies four-part choir). She was also the director of The Huronia Choristers, in Elmvale.

Catherine holds a Bachelor of music (honours in voice performance) from University of Western Ontario, an Associate of music (honours voice performance) from the Western Conservatory, and a Bachelor of Education from York University.

As a professional soloist she has studied in Ontario, British Columbia, and London England, and has sung throughout Ontario, the west coast of Canada and the USA, and at many of the great Cathedrals of Britain and France, including Yorkminster, Canterbury, St Paul’s and Notre Dame in Paris.

At present she remains Director of music at Central United in Barrie, and is an occasional teacher with the Bluewater District School Board, at the elementary level, specializing in music.

She is delighted to be a new member of Sweet Adeline’s International and directing Harmony North in Collingwood.
