We welcome our new director Selina Ree!

Selina Ree is a passionate voice teacher dedicated to empowering individuals to express themselves through sound using a body-based pedagogy. With over 14 years of experience, Selina has taught private and group voice lessons, directed choirs and led Barbershop.She holds a degree in Vocal Performance from McMaster University and was introduced to the world of barbershop at the age of 16 by her mother, Wanda. This introduction sparked a lifelong love for barbershop music, which has remained close to her heart even as she pursued studies in classical, opera, and baroque music. Shortly after graduating from university, Selina began directing two competitive barbershop choruses—Harmony North Chorus and Barrie Soundwaves—with Sweet Adelines International. She is now proud to once again lead Harmony North Chorus, bringing her expertise and enthusiasm back to the group.Outside her work with the Chorus, Selina runs a thriving voice and piano studio in Stayner, where she inspires musicians aged 5 to 65. Her ongoing passion for helping people find their voices and perform with confidence has made her a respected leader in the barbershop and vocal music community. Selina brings a theatrical approach to her barbershop rehearsals, fostering creativity and collaboration. She is committed to growing the Chorus and creating a vibrant, supportive environment where singers can learn, get creative, and ring some chords together.
